Angry Defeat in the Lords

Just heard on the radio that the government won the vote in the Lords by about 100 votes. Lord McDonald will make a statement in the spring after the 3 month delay. Can we still keep fighting or are all avenues now closed

bugger. iguess it just means that the fight drags on for another 3 months and everyone gets increasingly battle-weary. hopefully that won't happen but having got so close to defeating this disaster-in-waiting it'll be hard to do it a second time- bit like the non-league side winning 2-1 with a minute left of a cup match @ old trafford only to let in an equaliser. great effort but you know they'll get murdered in the replay. make sure you start this rematch early, write AGAIN to your mp. e-mail him/ her, phone them up, demand to know what their stance is & try to change their mind if you feel sufficiently confident. get every single person you know to write as well, draft a sample letter for them if necessary, mapping out the relevant points i.e. we are not everse to change, just to change for profit's sake.

keep fighting people, don't let the ******** get you down!

Sent my Labour MP an email on the 16th, the guy doesn't have the guts to reply any more. I know who I'll not be voting for next time Mr Levitt!

I think it is about time we let our legs do the talking. We gave in over pay, but lets stand up and be counted over this one.

Now is an ideal time, with at least four rail incidents over the last couple of days, to point out to the travelling public just how "safe" a system can become when it is operated for profit, and investment is reduced to allow the generous lining of pockets.
