Exclamation News from planet ORO

Greetings !!!

I bring you news from planet ORO, located deep in that parallel universe where the NATS core business is creating spread-sheets and wearing grooves into the roads between Swanwick and West Drayton.

The benevolent aliens have come up with two new ideas to assist the raising of staff morale.

One lucky ATCO has been selected for a new idea. Deep in the throes of official relocation, he/she informed the ORO of the dates that the relocation company had arranged his /her house move. "Aha", they said, "you cannot have time off for your house move, but, never fear, you can bank them as days in lieu".

Meanwhile, those all-important spread-sheets are showing a staffing shortfall for this very month. "Not to worry", they cried, "we'll just cancel some summer leave that was booked last autumn". Luckily, a passing earthling dissuaded them from this course of action, but I'm sure they will have other bright ideas to help us.

"It's management, Jim, but not as we know it."

I didn't get the time for my move either, and they tried the same with my wife too, but then we pointed out there would be no-one home to let them in, which came back with "have you a friend" followed by a look of 'no-one home'.

PS you wanna see the August pre-lim Rosters

'wanna fly somewhere? not likely'

Sad but true. The increasingly desperate measures at LATCC AC are indicative of a management who have lost the plot completely.....The many recent examples of "management", and i use the term advisadely, show how completely out of touch our managers are. Short of staff and getting shorter, trainees leaving in droves because the stress of the job is making them sick, staff becoming increasingly fatigued by the current rosters, summer traffic etc, and managements last hope appears to be that the FMU and ORO between them will shift the traffic, and those pesky air trafficers will see that management were right all along. Sadly UK airtraffic will take industrial action this year.......the blame will lie firmly at the management door !!!
