Smile Luton ATC

A press release will confirm the following news.

The Board at Luton Airport have accepted that contracting out the entire unit to NATS makes sound commercial sense.

UNISON, the union representing the ATC staff at Luton, has continually pressed the management to contract out all of ATC to NATS. Subject to the signing of a commercial contract, this will occur next year.

UNISON would have liked to keep the unit 'in-house', but this was not an option being considered by senior management. I understand that the staff at Luton look forward to becoming NATS employees and have broadly welcomed the news from the Board.
