Thumbs up Thames Radar, thanks :)

Thanks to Thames Radar for being very helpful in getting us what we wanted on wednesday evening/night! It was great, a VFR crossing at 2000ft from BIG to BNN, coming from Southend, giving us excellent views over the city! Even getting on landline for handover to Luton. Well done! Thanks again,
Regards,
AV8R-77

Aaahh.. "London Radar". That brought back memories. It used to be the callsign of the radar side of "London Airways" (aahh) but it's now owned by some strange chaps wearing blue suits. All very non-twee.

Hey HD, perhaps you remember ''Heathrow Radar'' in the huts on the North side of the airfield when Bnn was Garston!

Cheers,

Being ex-SATCC, I remember the RAF radar unit 'Heathrow Radar' there when Garston was Leavesden 'LEA' (112.3 ? M/cs). Before that it was Watford NDB 'WAT' on 279 k/cs.

'Leave Leavesden heading.......' was a bit of a mouthful.

Is anybody 'London Radar' or 'London Airways' any more?

If London Radar turns up anywhere it'll be on "Flog It"!

I can remember when there were only two holds - Watford and Epsom.. but that was before I was an ATCO!
