Post NATS selection tests and ATC visits

Couple of point ... I'll be sitting the NATS Student ATCO tests next month, so I've been looking through all the post posts on the topic - it's really useful, so I won't waste anyones time by asking the same questions again ... unless anyone's got anything new to add

One question though is regarding visiting an ATC establishment. How would I go about doing this? I'm currently based at uni in Edinburgh, and my parents live near Manchester ... so how might I go about trying to visit one or other of these? Other any others, of course.

Thanks in advance everyone

Phil

As regards visiting Edinburgh, if you give the office a phone in office hours, and ask for the Training and Ops manager they'll put you through. Just tell them it's a pre-interview visit and there's not normally any problem whatsoever.

The number is 0131 339 1888

Good luck!!

I'd give both a visit if you can arrange it.

They're an interesting contrast - Manchester does some area control as well as aerodrome work, Edinburgh is a good example of a smaller (no offence intended to PH) airport. Look out for the differences and try and get a feel for why they're different (ask!).

Thanks for the help so far ... I'll be trying to get in touch with them soon. I've already visited Manchester a couple of times for work experience a few years back, but I can't remember how it was organised. Any bright ideas?

Sort out your visit to Edinburgh as mentioned above, and mention that you want to visit Manchester whilst you're here. We'll do our best to tie up something for you.
