NATS private Forum?

Private forum is a bad idea. What needs to be hidden?
The ATC Issues forum is a good overall interface between ALL ATC staff and a good place for pilots and other interested parties to ask questions. If the bulk of UK controllers are lurking in their funny hanshake private forum, then how much traffic will appear here?
Fewer forums (fora?) = more viewers.
More viewers makes it easier to get messages accross and more likely to come up with descent replies.
DON'T DO IT!!!

I'm against it and here's why...
At present I believe that we have as near total anonimity as is possible and accept Pprune Radar's assurances about how the private forums work, however following an "incident" a couple of years back I for one would not sign up for any private forum if it means giving any form of real id to ANYONE employed by NATS.
The "incident" was partly of my own making, as, being fairly new to the internet I entered into some light-hearted email correspondance with another contributor to this forum but failed to realise that the email I used would show up my real name to the receiver.
I was not surprised when, having realised my mistake, my correspondant approached me in person but was shocked and angry when he stated that he had traced me through records held on NATS computer.
While I'm sure that this person had no malicious intent how would you feel about contributing to a private forum on Pprune if someone was able to access your personal records?
...or maybe I'm just being paranoid...

Good idea in principal, but I am with Bill, lets have an open forum for all ATCOs. I do not trust NATS or whowever we will become, not to access this forum. Have allready had the warning not to access this site from NATS management at my unit simply because someone gave info on opening date and sids of new R/W

Magnetron - u at MACC by any chance?
Just that we had a similar warning and I wondered if this is what was actually revealed in this case.
I couldn't find anything on the site at the time of the controversy.
