Post EGCC to move to ScOACC ?

Heard a rumour that Manch centre will eventually be moving to NSC and not NERC - is that right ??

If so - how do you boys and girls feel about going "oop north" instead of "darn sarf" ??

why the change of plan anyway ? Typical management myopia ?

Never mind EGCC to NSC....I hear NERC to NSC is a politically favoured proposal. Jobs up north and the 'Dome' fiasco can be swept under the carpet?

Bit of a quandry for those at MANCH. What's it to be? After selling mansion in Cheshire, is it a castle in Ayrshire or shoebox in Hampshire????

But with McNERC not expected to be fully "online" until 2008 according to various sources, surely MACC won't be shifting it's sexy butt until AT LEAST 2010?

Mind you at least the aerodrome side of things (erk!) won't have to worry, by all accounts. If the rumblings from the restroom jungle are true MAPLC will soon be canvassing ATCO staff and offering a rather delicious "golden welcome" (as opposed to a golden shower - which will surely follow later on for those foolhardy enough to cross the fence!) such is their intention to non-renew the luverly NATS contract for aerodrome services when it expires.

Also whilst I'm perched on my soapbox - does anyone else think that the great NERC birth in January may simply be sommat like "London Info" opening or something like that i.e. a bit of a symbolic (only) opening for the press' benefit and so we get our 1%?

Then again...maybe I've been reading far too any Erich von Daniken novels!

131.12. Having before retirement spent best part of 20 years on Pole Hill sector at the factory, I felt a little nudge would not go amiss - and there is no need to shout, only naughty children do that.

131.12..................
I don't think that "Shack" was having a go regading work etc.
I think it is more a case of the Jocks & Mancunians deserving each other because you are all from "up North". You know, cloth caps & ferrets, high crime rates, just generally somewhere to avoid. Being in the South we are naturally at the cutting edge of things and therefore enjoy a better life style. In a recent survey it also revealed that the average IQ was far greater in the South.
Anyway, must dash, I've got a golf club meeting to attend and a masonic dinner this evening.
Regards
ACH
PS I do have a friend at EGCC who DOESN'T wear a cloth cap....at the moment!!

I sincerely hope I am right in detecting a little sarcasm in your post.

Hey boys and girls - cool it down!
131.12, you didn't help matters by claiming that you were amongst the most cost effective staff in NATS!! We are all colleagues who work at our various units for our own reasons. I know there are a few who want to move and sooner or later up til now the moves have happened. We have to pull together. Those of us down south need all the help we can get at the moment against the disater that is about to happen at Swanwick. Believe me, if we do nothing then those folk up north will have exactly the same heap of s**t dumped on them in a few years.

Still 131.12, not sure how you have "saved our necks" on a number of occasions.
Level Capping into S29 may well have allowed traffic to get airborne which otherwise wouldn't have done so, but surely that's just a case of putting traffic through airspace where capacity is still available. I know that thinga are bad for everyone down here at present,so how many of you will volunteer to come to NERC rather than a move North of the border.
PS. In email etiquette, using capitals IS the equivalent of SHOUTING!!!

Don't you just love it when you toss in a bait and along comes someone to swallow it.

Bon chance mon brave.

Time to head back across the water.

I think my bait was a little too obvious...

Well done for ignoring it lads.
