France-Closed Shop?

Whats the likelihood of ATC jobs becoming available in France with predicted future shortages worldwide. Is it a closed shop or can I still dream about a tower job somewhere in the south of France?

Red face "pas de moustaches du chat"

Or, "not a cats whiskers"

Definitely a closed shop. A case of the French disregarding EEC Law (again?) concerning the open market and additionally, they are over manned with ATCOs compared to most countries.

On top of this you would be back of the queue for any plum postings in the South of France - The only slight glimmer on the horizon is that some airports may possibly privatise their ATC services but I suspect this will be quite a few years away. Shame really because I quite fancied Avignon or Montpellier.

Thanks Avalon, back to the drawing board then. I'll have to rethink my working holiday prior to retirement then, don't really fancy the sandpit!

France appealed, mostly from a cycling point of view(you have to plan days off!!)

Thanks for your input Priscilla, Allez Virenque!
