Onward clearance - alt restriction

I know this subject has been discussed before, and I've searched for it, but can't find it.

Can anyone quote me chapter and verse (preferably from MATS) on the following:-

An aircraft is cleared on initial descent to, say, FL100, to be level by Point A, say the GWC. Descent starts. Before reaching either GWC or FL100, ATC clear them to a lower level or a further point on the flight plan without restating the level restriction. Is that level restriction thereby lifted?

From MATS Part 1 Section 1 Chapter 4 Page 4 Para 6.1

"When an amendment is made to a clearance the new clearance shall be read in full to the pilot and shall automatically cancel any previous clearance. Controllers must be aware, therefore, that if the original clearance included a restriction, e.g. 'cross ABC FL 150 or below', then the issue of a revised clearance automatically cancels the earlier restriction, unless it is reiterated with the revised clearance."

The answer to your question is Yes.

MATS pt 1 Section 1 Chapter 4

"When an amendment is made to a clearance, the new clearance shall be read in full to the pilot and shall automatically cancel any previous clearance. Controllers must be aware, therefore, that if the original clearance included a restriction e.g.'cross ABC FL150 or below' then the issue of a revised clearance automatically cancels the earlier restriction unless it is reiterated with the revised clearance."

Beat me to it Speke.... I'll leave it anyway
