nope - good for you. Fill it in quick and get it back to HR in case they've made a mistake!

Hopefully i may get mine soon as you and I had acceptance letters at roughly the same time?

Yip, I got mine on Friday..but too late to make an appointment!

I wouldn't get too excitied, I spoke to a freind of mine who recently completed training. He remembers going for his medical in March 02 and not starting til June 03.

Re.: Medical

I believe the initial medical has to be done at the CAA medical centre.
See here:

Congratulations to everyone who has passed their interviews by the way. I have my second stage in 2 weeks.

I booked mine for the 23rd at 13:00.
Do NATS refund travel costs because I have to fly into Heathrow and due to the short notice it's costing over £200

nope, i phoned my hospital X Ray dept this morn at 8.30 and i was all radioactive by 0915. Thing is they didn't/wouldn't tell me the result! finger x'd tho they said they will send my results to my GP who will then forward the results to Heathrow... (Hot report apparently.. i.e. Private not NHS) so should get there in time. Hopefully! I wrote an email to the medical dept to check that the routing via my GP is ok, but haven't heard back yet. see ya on the thurs 24th then MPS... look for the chunky blonde bloke and that should be me! :t

I got my letter too on Saturday. Ive booked my medical for the 7th July at 1400. I didnt get anything about a chest x-ray though. Does everyone have to have one or just certain people?
I know that we obviously are going to be waiting a good year before we start the course, and Im trying to decide what to do with myself for this time.
Id be interesting in taking on some kind of post with NATS. Does anyone know of any jobs in ATC (office admin or anything) that might be available soon. I mentioned this to the lovely HR lady in my interview and she said there might be something and she would put a note in my file.
Anybody any ideas?

Hi,
Yep, everyone will need a chest x ray. Its part of the requirements for the issue of an initial class 1 medial (see jonny connors post for the link). When i booked my medical they asked me to email them my home address and telephone number etc, so that they could forward me the paperwork required to get the x ray done at my local hospital. If they ahvent asked you to do the same, best call the med dept at heathrow again and ask if they need an email, or if you tell them over the phone.
Have fun!

Ah yes they did ask me to send them an email too, so thats what that will be about.
Just to add more stuff to the rumour mill....... when I called NATS today they told me I would probably be on the March 05 or June 05 course.
Waiting is a pain in the arse but at least I made it!!!

Thats interesting - when did you pass your interviews etc? I hope its the March date, just want to start asap!!

First things first, pass the medical then ill be happy!! My hospital are being a pain at mo trying to sort this Xray out - did you go to a private one Chrisf?

Going down in the morning to try and get it sorted, hopefully thatll work?!!

Do you know if theres a limit on the expenses? Its actually cheaper for me to fly at £60 return into Heathrow than get the train!!!

Re the X Ray... nope went to my Hospital (NHS) and they treat it as private anyway. hence why they should be rushing the report thro. My X ray dept was in the outpatients section... if ur havin problems u sure ur not callin the A&E XRay dept?? just an idea!

re expenses... excuse to fly somewhere eh? lol. Phone Nats, see what they say. MARCH 05 eh?? ever the pecimist... lets see eh? i still have Oct 05 ringing in my ears since my interview

Just hope the medical will be fine... no reason for it not to be, but hey its been playin on my mind... i'll know soon enough!
