Someone Else,
How long did the examination take in total? Mine is at 13:00 on Wednesday and my return flight is at 18:30 so hopefully I will have plenty of time to spare.

is that it????? lol
i had to go rescue my chest x ray report from my gp yesterday, the hospital sent it there instead of NATS... they got it and didn't know what to do with it, so just filed it away.
Got it now... thats all ok, so should be fine.
MPS: i might just bump into as mines at 1400.
Someone_else: what bit did you have problems on?? the dotty pictures/numbers one???? Best of luck matey!

Yeah, well there are the 'dotty' tests which I didn't fail in that sense, because if I failed then that would have been it! But I was questionable. They did this lantern test, which was suprsingly scarey!

It was two lights, tiny little ones (maybe the size of the light you get on the front of your TV) and you are sat 6 meters away from them. They are not very bright either, you have to say whether they are red, green or white.

I was questionable with that as well, so I am going to see someone in Gatwick now. I think I rushed it and didn't allow time to really look at the lights - it was the white I think that tripped me up. But I knew as soon as I opened my mouth that I said the wrong thing, but by that point it is too late.

So I will need to calm myself for GW.

(Oh, you only need to little X-Ray report btw, don't worry about the whole thing!)

Word from HR today is that they will be allocating start dates "within a month or so". Hmmm.

hi guys,
I had my medical on 23rd June and got my C1 posted to me about 5 days ago. I just hope the course date are in March 05 which is when I have planned for. I passed my interview in Jan. I am now getting a little worried about seeing the date of Oct 05 being mentioned. I wonder if HR will allocate course dates in the order of, when we applied, when we passed our interview, or when we passed the medical. Would anyone know?

Hi,

I had my medical on the 24th June and not heard a peep yet!!! Keeping my fingers crossed! I think start dates will naturally have preference towards those who have completed all the stages. Whats also worth remembering is that make sure your referees have replied to NATS otherwise that will delay the process unecessarily! Ive heard that you generally start not much more than 6 months after passing your medical.

Will just have to wait and see, post here if anyone hears anything!!!

My medical's coming up and I have to admit I'm bricking it about my eyesight as I think I've slipped outside the initial requirements.

I'm within the renewal limits though and I already have a JAA Class One for flying (was inside the limits when I got that!) - I don't know how much impact that will have on matters.

Well done tired flyboy!! When was your medical again - was it on the 1st July?!

I had mine on the 24th June, beginning to get a little worried now - I think everything went fine

Hope it comes through the letter box soon, its horrible playing a waiting game!!

Thanks MPS

yea,
1 July 14:00hrs not 13:00 as i thought! just as well the medical didn't involve a memory test - i'd have failed it for sure!

Maybe i went through quicker as i've already got a JAR Class2 so all my details were on file at Gatwick - not sure though

Shouldn't be long now

[edited for crass stupidity by me!]

Does anyone know if their references have been followed up yet? Mine haven't yet and they keep moving house!

When in the hiring timescale do NATS normally do this?

Hello foghorn,

Yes both of my references have been followed up, my university personal tutor said he fired off a reference about a month ago.

Just waiting for the thumbs up with regards to the medical, hopefully it will be next week!
