NATS Interviews in Birmingham

Does anyone have a NATS interview on Wednesday 12th at the Britannia Hotel in Birmingham. This is my first attempt at the interview, and just wondering if anyone has any tips for the day.

Hey frogga, ill be there!

Have a look at the sticky above in this forum, couldnt be more useful. Its a little old but tells you far more than the letter and what was conveyed by that ann robinson type atco bird that showed us the video on round one.

There seems a lot more than is made out in the letter.

Best of luck

I remember the controller and the video rather well. What time do you have to be there. Mine begins at 13:00.

Selection Day

I've got my first selection test on 19th May at Britannia Hotel Birmingham. Any one else coming to this one ?

Those who have been to a selection day before can you tell me roughly how many people were taking the tests, and i know it might sound a bit silly, but there's no dress code is there?

What to take to selection day ?

Thanks for the tip Vectorline.
Do you have to take anything with you to the selection day ? I know you have to take your passport for ID but do you have to take any stationery or something or is all that provided ?

I'd appreciate a quick reply please. Test on Wednesday !

I went to the London Tests, there were about 80 or so there! Like what adam said, everything is provided, even sandwiches etc, even though we did end up eating another companies refreshments at half-time!! With regards to clothes, I wore a suit and so did 90% of the people there. Its not compulsory but there's no harm in doing so, the odd person that did wear jeans, stood out like a sore thumb, but it will not determine whether you get through or not - thats up to you!!

Dont forget to read through the blurb you got sent beforehand and remember, everythingis against the clock. For every test, I worked out the time i had per question, some test were only about 8 seconds per question, so you can imagine theres no time to think about what youre having for tea tomorrow night!!

Good luck with it all!

I had my selection test today ! I gotta thanks mps12 for the advice because everyone was suited and booted ! There was only one guy who was'nt and he did indeed stick out. As for the tests we started a little later than usual due to some poor organisation by the NATS staff. I did'nt have any problems with any of the tests until i did the Spatial Awareness paper. I am completely useless at these and i'm sure that i've f d up that part of the test ! Any one know how the tests are marked ? Do you need to get a certain percentage in every paper or is it an overall percentage of all the tests ? I'm worried that i've messed up my chances because of how badly i did on the Spatial test. Help !

Glad you took my advice! I felt the same, all the tests went well until the spatial awareness. I thought I had done bad, answered only 34Qs and struggled on a few but I must have done OK! From prevous threads it is thought that you need 70% in each test to qualify, some think its an average of 70%, who knows?! What I do know is that not many get through, so give yourself a pat on the back if you do!

Keep everyone informed!

Bet that guy not wearing a suit looked funny!!!!

Just keep your fingers crossed, if its meant, youll pass!

I found the spatial tests soooooo hard - I can't see how I can have got more than 50% of them right unless I had an amazing amount of luck on my side! Anyway I passed my selection tests, so there is hope!

I have my interview in Birmingham on June 17th, anyone staying overnight there get in touch, so I'm not lonely! Good luck to everyone
