Tango 9 clearances
A friendly enquiry to those Shanwick folk who arrange clearances down the T9 routes.
We have recently requested clearances T9 Lasno-Begas-STG (Santiago, Spain) and received the clearance back as Lasno-Begas-ESP (Espichel, Portugal).
The question is, is there some sort of co-ordination that allows us to route Begas direct to ESP implicit in the received clearance because the Madrid Controllers know nothing about it and there is no direct route connecting the 2 points?
Thanks in anticipation for clarification

Not sure if this is common but I don't think there is a particular reason for it. Perhaps the flight plans are getting corrupted in our computer system or something.
If the route is not acceptable just request a reroute at the time the clearance is issued. It shouldn't be a problem most of the time.
