Dubai Runway Procedures

Could anyone inform me why recently the landing runway has been switched from 30L to 30R, and 12L to 12R? I am assuming it is because of the extention wip on rwy 30L/12R.

When the extention is complete what will be the sop for landing and departing aircraft?
Thanks in advance..

During weekdays work is in progress in the undershoot of 30L, this has meant removal of the 12R localiser plus a reduced TORA on 12R (though LDA remains the same). So departures have all been requesting runway 12L, in order to integrate deps & arrs more efficiently we've been using the vor/dme approach to 12R for arrivals. On the opposite end we normally prefer 30R but have had work on that runway over the past few months.

As for the future, who around here thinks of that then?

Hope this helps.
