ZRH ATCO Remembrance "Shutdowns"?

We're getting reports about Spanish & Greek ATC shutdowns around 1200Z today, in respect of the ZRH controller murdered last week.

Firstly, let there be no doubt that I understand and sympathise completely with this !

Just to help our crew briefs and fleet planning though, could anyone advise if most of European ATC will be following around the same time ?

Switzerland:
30mins without take offs (NOTAMed)
Portugal:
1 minute of radio silence
France:
No take offs 1200-1210 UTC
Slovenia:
30 minutes without take offs
Maastricht ACC:
1 minute of radio silence at 1200
Spain:
20 mins without take offs (NOTAMed)
Denmark
1 minute of radio silence
Czech Republic:
1 minute of radio silence, possible period without take offs (under discussion)
Lithuania:
1155-1215 all take offs fromEYVI will be stopped
Austria:
1 minute of radio silence
Finland:
1 minute of radio silence

Just confirmed by the Spanish ATC union:
All departures will be stopped 1200-1220 UTC

Maastricht UAC had a minute silence in common with the rest.

In Canarias no incidents, we sttoped departures at 1200 UTC and they begun again at 1220UTC.

Thanks for the pilots cooperation in theses difficult moments for us.

Silence observed

Yes. This went "well" here. NOTAM'ed civil and military - flying safety excempted of course. (The spirit!). With very little planning it was possible here. Domestic taxying, AWACS flying a full procedure, civil photo flight doing his business. All in silence contemplating with us on the ground.

Thank you, guys. Also to those that only got the message airborne and offered to stand off an hour early! Most beautiful clear - but bitterly cold - weather as the funeral service took place 200 miles east of here. RIP - Peter Nielsen.

The entire day Denmark decided to show it self from its most beautiful side. Before and after the ceremony the sun was shining down at us and the church from a clear sky.

........ and in the UK the Prospect National Secretary (not an ATCO) makes another mess of things by agreeing with his NATS counterpart that any such action in the Uk would be industrial action.

We do care deeply in the UK even if we were not given the chance to show it. Our thoughts to his family and his colleagues in Swisscontrol.

God's teeth. What a pathetic excuse; you could surely just have done it anyway.

I can only presume that the union covers more than NATS and also. judging by other threads, that you are not entirely satisfied with your reps performance, and also that reps are elected.

Instead of just complaining about your conditions, why not take steps to organise your own union, with your own elected reps.
Or is it still that Napoleon's "Nation of shopkeepers", still has de Maistre's, "...government it deserves"?

In the US if we would have even have contemplated doing such a thing, the FAA would have declared it an industial action as you call it... They then would have taken action against us as quickly as possible as a whole and not just as individuals...

Very interesting. 20 minutes closed for departures - well done! One minute silence - no problem - but the "players" co-operated and "observed" it - and made it "not a problem". That you have a lawyer sitting on your shoulder - like a vulture? - could perhaps be a flight safety problem?
