Angry HR Latest - New Year Assessments (Initial Stage)

Have just called HR - trying to fish out any information out of them is like trying to sell oil to the Arabs. Anyway, it appears for those of us that have had out application in for sometime now ie, since summer, we will receive a letter within the next 2/3 weeks advising of a definitive date/location for stage one aptitude. They are going to operate them throughout Jan and Feb. If anybody has heard any different I would be interested to know.......Does anybody else feel the frustration??

Sept/Oct.... Oct/Nov..... Nov/Dec.... New Year.... Jan/Feb...
I'm beginning to think there's a pattern here, it's like one of those IQ tests, maybe its part of Stage 1, guess the next date in the sequence.
Thanks for the update PGM. 2-3 Weeks is good to know. I put mine in on line a few weeks ago after being told not to apply on paper since August! I've got slight long site in my left eye, so I had to submit my eye prescription. With the postal strikes I called and asked for someone to confirm the prescription had arrived and been matched with my on-line application. No one has contacted me in 2 weeks. Now I see you submit the prescription on line too.
I don't want to phone again, as I don't want my name to become mud and the application to go bin bound!!
Think I'll wait and then apply again if needs be.
Good luck though

MARCH 2004

I have just had another chat with HR, we know each other by first name terms now (Not sure if that is a good thing or not - what the hell) Letters are being sent out at the end of this week (apparently), but not to all applicants. For those people within a reasonable travelling distance to Manchester (2-3 hours), which is one of the selected test centres, I was advised we would be finally sitting stage 1 in the second week of March.....so plenty of time still to lose sleep!

I've just has an email from HR asking me to resubmit my application form as the on-line application is now different!!
Whilst its a bit of a pain, at least this means some movement is occuring there.
Guess this is a notice for anyone else who applied on line a while back to check their messages.
Nearly there (hopefully)

Fellas (sorry, or Fellarettes)........welcome to NATS !!

This is just the sort of incompetant management you can expect if you are unlucky enough to pass the entrance tests/exams or whatever they call them these days.

Don't get me wrong....the JOB is excellent, it's just that the management is of it is

Hi everyone.
Had a letter from HR yesterday, they are still confirming venues, but those of you who've had interviews cancelled should be sorted by the end of january!! Intial iq test days (which i'm waiting for) are spread out thro january and february. I know the london one is around 2-3 feb 2004. The next free course start date is January 2005! lets wait and see eh? Hopefully i'll see some of you soon!!

So I take it your letter didn't actually state a date then. They seem to be giving out a lot of conflicting information as they told me that all suitable applicant had been allocated initial test dates and these would all be confirmed in the next wave of letters.

Is there anybody on the inside who is prepared to shed light on what is going on. For a company and operation that thrives itself on communication, efficient service and multi tasking, there HR department leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe the initial IQ tests is something that HR should be tested for. I apologise to those people out there that work for NATS, I just cannot help voicing my frustration and that of others. I have never ever come across a company that treats potential employees in this way.
