Is Airforce 1 expected tomorrow [wed] or have i missed it?

This is one of those awkward "do I answer or not?" type situations.

And if it didnt have that unique colour scheme, it wouldn't even get noticed.

It came to LHR last time, with escort and support aircraft. Don't know where this time, so long as he doesn't pinch my slot.

No doubting the size, colour and importance of the plane...

I'm sure getting to see that land would be just as difficult as getting a decent vantage point at Heathrow on any other day of the week!!!

Given the Secret Service security paranoia, why doesn't Dubya take a leaf out of his chum Tony's book: blag a plain(!) plane from one of the US carriers and travel (semi) incognito?

Cause if he wasn't in his own Presidential Jet, he wouldn't have his Pres Jacket on, and forget who he was. Probably end up in Immigration with all the other bods in T4, trying to find his passport. Asking for directions to "Bucking-ham Castle".

Maybe if he was dealt with like a "normal" punter he could rightly be arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.

Didn't come in today, and there was no sign of the secret service around LHR this afternoon which I would have expected if he was flying in this evening.

Jerricho, that's the sort of reply I'd expect from someone that you work with, still it hits the nail on the head.BTW all details about his visit are available via the good old BBC either teletext or online so I wouldn't worry about supplying info to any budding terrorists

Many years ago whilst working on TMA North, Air Force One called and I asked him "Whose airforce is that". that caused a bit of a cough and a splutter.

Shack Something similar. We now get a lot more military flights than in the past with sometimes ambiguous call signs, e.g. HAF is either Greek Air Force or Hungarian; IAF is Italian or Indian.
I was sat with a trainee when FAFnnnn came up, trainee dived in with a long, illlegal, spiel in French. Stunned silence from the other end then Eastern Scandinavian voice said "Very nice, now in English please". Was he French or Finnish, take your pick.

Lon More, the countdown continues

If Air Force 1 comes in and a car backfires in Slough, the "support" aircraft will flatten the place! No bad thing in general, but my house is there....

When he came over in 2001/2002 (can't remember exactly when), Air Force One was parked at a military base just down the road from Oxford....
