Peltor head set should fit the bill, nice & light and comfy too.

Try the following dealers (although you may just get a cheaper price from a local flying club).

IMHO, invest in a good headset, your ears will thank you.
It will also prolong your level of hearing much longer at a higher level.
Try the Sennheiser HMEC-25KA. I am using one and it is a gem.

After sitting on top of a washing machine and flicking the ANR on/off on a friends DCs I was instantly sold on the idea of ANR, that and I'm a boy and like gadgets!

I bought a set of Harrys HM-40s and have to say, to my mind, offer the best value for money for any cheap and not so cheap headset, about £80 and far nicer than the club head-vice DCs.

My question is that I'm coming into a bit of cash after a spot of work, and thought I'd give my kidneys a break and blow the whole lot on a headset, I'm pretty well sold on the Litespeed 25XL or a Telex set. does anyone have any info, the DC HC-10s and the shnetzers are a bit out of my price range and I'm not to keen on the brand anyway.

Also any advice on buying from the states, Tax and whatnot, would it work out much cheaper?

Any advice would be welcome.

Little Red, if you want to buy from this side of the pond you might want to check out some Canadian dealers too. Our dollar is 35% cheaper so it could be quite competitive. Aviation World (http://www.aviationworld.net) is a good starting point.

Try the Telex ANR-500. Very lightweight with partial ear muffs and noise cancelling. Very good for medium noise cockpits like a 747.

Try www.hartaviation.com (http://www.hartaviation.com)

I think they will match prices with anyone else. Good selection of other headsets, also.
