I just wondered that as most of the flights operating trans Atlantic last night were cancelled and/or delayed. I presume that there may well be additional flights this evening (15th August) and tomorrow morning (16th August). If this is so, have NATS been proactive and planned for additional AAVAs to cover this eventuality or will the skeleton night shift "bods" be expected to cope. After all, it is Friday afternoon!!.

We were just wondering on the other side of the world....

Did all the generators kick in for ATC, or were there any problems moving aircraft?

All emergency generators worked at all the Air Traffic Control facilities. The reason that so many flights were cancelled was that security wasn't able to screen passengers or baggage.
