View Full Version : '. . .FL 200 20 miles before Clippy'
A question for the ATC folks. After this clearance comes the FL 150 by Clippy. Some skippers say this nullifies the previous FL200/20 miles requirement and others say it doesn't. I've asked the audience, so now it's phone a friend.

The new clearance will cancel the previous one issued. If in doubt ask the controller to confirm actually what he/she wants. After all they are their to help you the pilot.

This is probably the most-asked question for ATC ( other than "any chance of direct to ... ). As correctly stated above, any new clearance cancels the previous one. However, people can and do make errors so, as also stated above, if you have any doubt at all, ask for confirmation.
