I noticed today that BA seemed to have subchartered an old 747-200 from somewhere to operate the 207 service.

Just wonderwing why BA would need to subcharter when they have about 50 747-400s and loads of 777 which would be able to operate a normal scheduled service?
Was it the knock on from the weekends chaos??

They're EXTREMELY short of crew at the moment, both on worldwide and Eurofleet,

Last week a LHR-CAI-LHR was subbed to Air Atlanta, again due to crew shortages....hopefuly they will start to recruit soon..strikes etc permitting!

Bunnygirl,

Are they short of cabin crew, pilots or both?

Thanks

Thought the answer would be to look after the CC that they have already got........treat them a bit better and they probably won't have to take a average 15 days sickness a year ........:yuk: :yuk:

If you combine this with what else is going on at BA it is a miracle that they make any monies. Quite right that there seems to be more static a/c on the LHR eng base than I can recall. Might it not be better to just lease in cabin crew having duly licensed them for a period.
