Hi.

I was just wondering if anyone can help me with a question I've had for a while. ...on the 757 (757-200 at least), I've noticed that there are an option of exit displacement. Most carriers have the four exits in the front, 4 overwing, and 2 rear exits. Then, I've seen carriers like USAirways with 4 forward exits and 4 rear exits. Is this some option set by the air carrier when they signed the purchase agreement? What is the choice based on? Also, is this standard among airliners?

Thanks a lot.

Dont know if this interests you, but there are three configurations available on the 767.
One has one door each side at the front, two overwings each side, and one rear door each side.
One has Two doors each side infront of the wing, and two doors each side behind the wing.
The other has one door each side at the front, one overwing each side, and two doors behind the wing each side.
The end result is that there are 4 exits each side.
These are for the 767-300 by the way.
