Blimey BRL, I was still on the way home while you were posting pics!

A great evening out and good to put some faces to names (and even some real names to pprune usernames).

Sorry to miss some early arrivals and departures (I was a bit late after missing my train). Maybe next time.

I don't remember feeling as fuzzy as I look in the pictures, but I probably will in the morning.

Anyway, I'm off to my (extra tall) bed.

Cheers for the piccies - always nice to know these people really do exist! At last I can visualise Keef as a chaplain - the only Keef I ever knew previously was most definitely un-chaplainy and I just couldn't picture him running about in a church.

Would be nice to get more regular piccies of pruners. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is curious what you all look like.

Well, they're very nice photos, but they do look a little ... restrained. Where are the uneditted ones?

Witchdoctor, LatinFlyer's (http://groups.msn.com/LatinFlyersAirportBar/pprunegallery.msnw?albumlist=2) isn't a bad place to start for dodgy pictures of some of us.

Keef

Restrained cos we could see the camera. It wasn't always so! And of course, the proceedings were directly influenced by the absence of AerBabe.

I got home safe and sober (one out of two ain't bad) and was up bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning to do my stint.

Now doing a plog for the PFA Rally on Friday and the Reims trip a couple of weeks later.

Must have missed these earlier. Nice to meet some new faces - thanks to BRL for organising it. Has anyone heard from Iain? :E

Keef
7th Jul 2003, 17:28
No - not a peep out of Iain. Do I need to go and make a pastoral visit?

Looks like BRL was feeding beer to the camera since he wasn't able to drink it himself, judging by the lack of focus.... :D but I'm glad everyone seems to have had a good time :ok:

Now, what's all the fuss about Iain.... I hope he wasn't left to look after himself, don't you all know that he needs constant supervision???

FFF He clearly missed your steadying, moderating influence. ;)

Keef Is a large quantity of Alka Seltzer a standard part of your pastoral kit? In that case I'm sure he'd welcome you with open arms. Though he might delay your other appointments by continuing the discussion about the existence (or otherwise) of God...:8

Yup, as others have said, twas a good day, and sorry for running off with the last 10p of the kitty :O

I think I was the last to speak to Iain. He was a bit worried about what you lot would say, so he left "quietly" :D

When's the next one then? I reckon another before the end of the "summer".....

Good pics, but could have been more blurred in certain of them... :hmm:

Iain! You didn't wait for me; I'm heartbroken!

Only 10p left in the kitty? Don't forget to check your pockets for used notes before you do the washing. ;)

BRL you were right about the Indian being open. We were beginning to lose hope as we trudged up through Faringdon - everywhere else was closed. Nice Biryani with a cold beer in excellent company, followed by a snooze on the last train home. The perfect way to finish a night out.

RTFM will you be posting your piccies?

What was that about BRL not being able to drink beer? He was doing it like a pro, as far as I could tell.

singaporegirl = I think I'll send Iain some books, when he's feeling better. No, I don't carry Alka-Seltzer: I've got an arrangement with the local GP about who does what.
I've also got a deal with the local police dog unit - I bless 'em, they bite 'em.

tKF - ever heard of windups? A certain unnamed moderator was trying to convince me there was a very large sum in the kitty. Turned out it was in an entirely different place...

Oh my god I feel such a pratt........

A full pirep will follow when I have rergained the use of my arms and can stop:yuk: :yuk: :yuk:

Long story...

PS Great to meet you all (again in some cases - and sorry Pen):ugh: :(

Keef - thanks for your patience, it was your day off!

Well, at least Iainpoll seems to have upheld the established tradition (a-hem) of Private Flyer bashes - must be something about having to return the the 'land of while socks' that has this strange effect on us :hmm:

While some of you were getting merry, I was sober as a judge, and flying back on my longest leg yet (Lands End -> Stapleford). I'm not sure the dentist would have let me play with you lot anyway:} :} :}

Which brings me to my point: Any chance of the next one being a weekday? Seems most attendees are working in town anyway - so a good turnout might be had. Also, much as I enjoy drinking with you all, I'd rather be flying given the chance  so summer weekends are a bit of a no-no really.

Glad you all landed safely anyway!

Midweek would suit me, as long as it's before September

Got there way to late sorry for missing the craic, next time!!

The advantage of an "overland" join is liquid refreshment; the drawback is that we're not flying. I reckon I can put up with the lack of a) if there's some b).

Now, where is there a nice airfield that needs our landing fees and fizzy drinks tokens?

Kemble this Friday is my next trip. Either in the Arrer, or if the weather's nice, in the Yak. See anyone there?

Good pics! If you read my thread about G-AAMY you will see that I could have made it after all as the aerobat-ing types at Headcorn had forgotten to tell me the comp was put back from 5 to 13 July grrrrrrrrrr

I know I always weasel out halfway through a session (well I feel guilty leaving hound "home alone" when I am having fun!)..but could have done a few hours at least!!

Next time!!

:ok:
