I was standing in the hangar this afternoon and had the chance to watch an Easy 733 come on stand and depart again very quickly. This sparked a discussion about maintenance and how quickly the number of flight cycles builds up and I was wondering how many cycles an EasyJet 737 clocks up in a day? BA 734's do approx 6-8 depending on routes. Take a route, say GLA-LTN, with 25-30min turnarounds how many flights?

They probably average about 9-10 per day, some lines are built to accomodate tech/maintenance issues

Also bear in mind the same aircraft does not operate the same route all day - neither do the crew thank God!

FlapsOne - yeah remembered this as I typed the post, but none the less I figured they must still fly more sectors than our 734's given the short turnrounds.

I checked the records on 2 of their aircraft at random,

One had a daily utilisation of 9.9 cycles, the other 8.4. (based upon 1 months flying)

Hope it helps
