The Aeronautical Charts & Data section of the CAA have produced an "On Track" navigation aid for the PFA Rally at Kemble. It can be found here (http://www.caa.co.uk/dap/dapcharts/ontrack/default.asp?page=2093) and includes photographs, maps etc...

The Adobe Acrobat document is quite large (1.08MB) so if you have a circuit switched 44kbps link it may be better to right mouse click and use the "Save Target As...." function and download it to your PC before opening it. If you choose to open if by double clicking the link it takes some time and your PC may give the appearence of having "locked up".

saw PFA in the subject post and associated it with another PFA - then saw the name of the poster.

Lulu, is that you?

Just picked this up from a poster on the PFA forum....

The Rally AIC has an error. In section 10.3.1 it warns about mistaking Aston Down for Kemble and gives the advice that Aston Down hangars are red and Kemble hangars green. THIS IS WRONG. Both airfields have a mixture of green and (rather grubby) red hangars.

Please don't come to Aston Down. We will be winch launching throughout the rally period. To see how similar the airfields are, look at a picture of Aston Down at http://www.cotswoldgliding.co.uk/images/astondownw.jpg and one of Kemble at http://www.kemableas.plus.com/airfield.htm

Hopefully it should be obvious from the lack of activity on the ground that Aston Down is the wrong airfield. However, the mistake has been made many times before and we expect it to happen again.

P.S. who is Lulu?

Lulu is a certain C120 currently living in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Guess we have crossed wires.
