The B737-NG currently has a 300 kt speed limitation when flight spoilers are deployed.

I am interested in reading if any operators have reduced the SOP descent speed, while the bulletin is in force, to ensure crews can use the 'chicken lever' on descent.

Program Des Page for 300 kts. Learn to read 3R&4R. Generally you can arm the boards and forget about them.

If you're going to be one of these pilots who who do 320 descents and never consider rough air during the descent, you can plan on being high, fast and long alot. You'll need to do momentary level offs alot to get your speed back to the point where you can use the boards.

dvt,

Thanks for the reply. What is your opinion of programming a 280 KIAS descent as a standard profile.

ATC is expecting your arrival to be 300kts. Routine arrivals of 280kts will make your's and the controllers job more difficult. The NG does a nice arrival programmed at 300 kts. If you're not quite familiar with the VNAV DES PAGE 3R & 4R information, give it a try. Start your descent when the V/B=2.7 degrees and match your V/S with that in 4R. YOu'll love. Just remember to changeover from Mach to IAS at 300 kts or you'll get the clacker.

The other tell-tale is there are six hinges on the elevator tab on the modified planes.
