I am moving in Vancouver this week. Would like to know if anybody can give me any hint on fairly cheap accommodation around YVR (room, apartment,...). Richmond's area, has I won't have any car?

Try this site (http://www.ipgglobal.net/Air_Rentals.php) they're a group of airline pilots. Once you enter their Forum under Canada click on "Downtown Vancouver".
Derek's the owner an AC pilot (he's a great guy who resides outside of Canada) if he's not using it (which is often) and if history is any indication he'll probably give you a great deal.
Won't hurt to contact him especially if nothing else comes up.
