T16 Routes to Manchester

Just wondering, the normal clearance after routeing T16 - Omoko is direct Liffy. Is their any reason why a route of Omoko direct WAL or MONTY could not be offered subject to traffic ? Never seems to be offered or is it simply because we don't ask ?

In the quiet hours we will accommodate such a request on an opportunity basis but be aware that the sectors you will go through, namely 9 [Lands End] 8 [Strumble ] 5 [Brecon ] did not know about you beforehand and the level of traffic already in those sectors might preclude your transit. Please remember that at night a controller can be responsible for 5 or 6 or more sectors simultaneously and the time of day or night is not always the guide you may think. That said I know that the guys on my watch will bend over backwards to accommodate such a request if it is at all feasible.
