They won't accept you as a potential pilot if you have:

-Contact lenses

-Glasses

-Laser corrective surgery

You need 20/20 vision.

When I was of elgible age the US military was the same way. Now I hear they are a bit more flexible and I think the Navy even allows the laser surgery.

"If being an RAF pilot is your game, then if you have pretty much anything wrong with eyes its a firm no and a push towards the door. (I haven't actually experianced this)."

I have :( I was at a careers gathering with my school and the armed forces were there. I went up to the RAF desk to pick up some leaflets. The guy at the desk asked me what i wanted to do in the RAF and so i said pilot. He took an immediate notice to my glasses (that i was wearing at the time) and pretty much told me you needed uncorrected 20/20 vi
