I needed to go to Hereford on business the other day and thought that flying there in the Warrior would be a good excuse to get up during the week.
The nearest airfield of any note within a practicable distance (ie. not Gloucester or Shobdon) seems to be Ledbury, which is, I guess, a private strip.
I couldn't find any information on it, so didn't go. Does anyone have any information on the strip at Ledbury?
Thanks

Don't have a Pooleys to hand but I believe it may be listed as Velcourt.

It's 800ish Metres long and is roughly E-W orientation. It is smooth grass but a little narrow if you are used to 'proper' airfields. Approaches are good and last I heard visitors were welcome if the usual noise abatement procedures are followed.
Make sure you arrive at the right field, as there are a few strips quite close not marked on the map - 'Ledbury' is 2nm East of a whopping great TV mast.
The number I have is 01531 660207

For what it's worth, my battered Pooleys 1999 edition shows Ledbury (Velcourt) as:
07/25 Grass unlicenced TORA 830x28 PPR
HON 113.65 241 37
BCN 117.45 066 33
Lat N5200.17 Long W00228.50
Operator Bromesberrow Estates 01531 660207/660286 (office hours)
Hope that helps
