Hi Folks,

Just want to check my understanding on this one......I am sure I have seen the answer somewhere but can't lay my hands on it.

A basic PPL holder in UK with night flying privileges (or the daytime flight only restriction removed whichever way you look at it) is permitted to fly at night under IFR in uncontrolled airspace/open FIR (i.e. Classes F and G).

If the same PPL wants to fly in controlled airspace (i.e. Classes A, B, C, D, E) he cannot fly under IFR, but he can request SVFR as long as the 10km viz requirements etc are met.

True/False

Answers on a postcard, please, to Mo's Tavern, Springfield.

True as far as I understand it.

As CM says, looks true to me. Probably worth remembering that SVFR is only available in a control zone (not control area) too.
