I'm thinking of going to Lille on Sunday for a spot of lunch with Mrs PhilD and planning to fly in to LFQQ, mainly because it has 24h customs. Has anyone been there recently and got any views on LFQQ as a destination, e.g. landing fees, parking, terminal facilities, availability of taxis etc?

Thanks

Very nice place to go with excellent facilities, and ridiculously low landing fee for a full ATC service (something like 11 Euros if I remember rightly). We got a straight in approach, but there are reporting points which they might use, but they're pretty clear landmarks.

When you park on the GA apron, the book-in office is in the old terminal building in front of you. It appears to be the only bit still in use. Flight plans can be filed in the office in the building next door.

You'll get driven to the new terminal building and escorted through security. When you're ready to depart, the main reception desk will phone through for your escort (probably a pretty young lady) to pick you up, take you back through security and drive you to your aircraft.

Bit different from Lydd, for about half the price!

Have a nice trip.

Thanks Rallye

I was there on Sunday and was the only aircraft on the (substantial) GA apron when I left (there was one F reg warrior when I arrived), although there were quite a few regional jet movements from the main terminal.

Service was excellent, in the air and on the ground with a straight in approach behind a Fokker 100 and a people carrier to pick us up from the GA apron and take us the 100m to the terminal. Fees appear to have gone up (now 27 Euros in total), but still good value for the service. The very pleasant lady in the GA terminal also called us a taxi and filed the flight plan for the return trip. Taxi to Lille centre is about 25 Euros each way and takes 15 mins.

On departure on 08 I needed to head west so asked ATC which way they wanted me to turn in the circuit. I was a bit surprised to get the response 'either way - as you wish', obviously not a busy day!

Overall a good place to visit and a change from the channel airfields that sounded VERY busy!
