View Full Version : Twin Instructor Training?

I am contemplating doing my twin instructor's rating, but the only way I could use it at my training organisation is for the occasional checkout, but more often to fly with mates who can then book twin instruction time as well as me booking the time. Does anybody else have any experience of this sort of situation ie rated but not much work? Was the rating worth doing?

Mole,

I don't think you need your twin instructor's ticket to give informal club checkouts (the way I see it).

Remember, your mates couldn't log your twin instruction time for the issue of a MEP(Land) class rating unless you or your organisation is an FTO.

I got my twin instructor's rating a couple of years ago. I do about four (courses) a year, plus checkouts (see above) and some IMC stuff. I think it is worth it as what little work there is about you'll be able to mop up if you're the only such rated instructor in the school. Hope this helps.

Regards, GT.
