Hi pilots,

Do you tend to cruise the A330/340 at .82 exactly or do you usually cruise it above/below Mach .82? I heard the fuel burn gets pretty bad above .82; is this true? I heard some pilots don't even go to .82, they stay at .79-.81?

Is there any difference in speed between the A330/340? For example would you cruise the A330 at a faster speed than A340?

What conditions dictate cruising the A330/340 at a different cruise speed than normal?

Around what N1 would your engines be at for a Mach .82 cruise at FL350 for the A330 and A340 respectively?

May I also know the LRC speed for the A330 and A340 also? Are they the same?

At MTOW, what would be the VR speed for the 3 different flap settings?

Thank you very much!

Regards,
Russell J.

The wing is designed for .82 so works best at that speed but the actual cruise speed is determined by wind and fuel costs to meet the commercial requirements of the airline!
