Gentlemen,

This may be a very naive and uninformed question from your point of view but I am willing to take that risk.

My question is as follows:

To which extent would you say that the MD-80 family of aircrafts differs - broadly speaking - from its predecessor the DC-9 family?

In case of there being any differences of significance would you assess that these differences are noticeable to passengers?

The reason that I am posting this question is that I am currently involved in a dispute on this exact topic at a consumer site known by the name of www.epinions.com

You may, if you want, take a look at the exchange as it has unfolded itself thus far:

Make sure that you scroll all the way down to the bottom in order to start at the beginning.

The dispute arose from a statement, which I made in my review of Scandinavian Airlines claiming that Scandinavian would take their DC-9 aircraft out of service in mid-2002.

I thank you in advance hoping for your usual kind and generous assistance.

Should you wish to elaborate on your vote in terms of a response to this post it would be most appreciated.

Wow! 58 pageviews and only 2 votes. Talk about being ignored. Thank you for your attention, gentlemen.

Knilaus,

Your question is fine. I believe this is the correct forum to post it. My only critical comment would be why attach a poll ?

Too many threads are undermined by totally meaningless polls and in order to assist your search ( which you yourself are becoming critical of ) I am closing the poll and leaving the question. Good luck !
