I know a few airfields that don't charge landing fees when you uplift fuel but I would love to know of any others, I hate paying a landing fee when I am there for just a few minutes and have just spent £150 on fuel.
Any sugestions?

Have you tried Sherburn. Nice airfield, food is good and a free landing if you uplift some of the cheapest fuel around :D

I think Peterborough Conington are doing such a scheme at the moment.
I believe its a free landing fee for every 40 or 50 litres (per engine!) uplifted.

Peterlee, between Teesside and Newcastle zones.

Lovely place, with a mixture of types from weight shifts to a multi turboprop.

 BUT LOOKOUT FOR THE PARACHUTES:eek:

Hundreds of them at a time (well at least a multi turboprop full)

Deffinatley goto Sherburn! My home airfield :)

New tarmac runway, NDB on field "SBL" 323.00Hz.

Food is great, fuel is cheap, great staff very helpful and plenty of people about to get chatting to. Must also mention, nice collection of vintage magazines tehe, and a nice seating area with good view!

And of course, the waiver if fuel purchased!

Come to Netherthorpe!

No landing fee at all if you are in a PFA type and no fee if you uplift fuel in anything else (can't remember what the usual cost is, off hand, but it's only about a fiver).

Turweston, Leicester reduced (on weekends only IIRC)

I know that is not twelve words, but it is now.

Try Bagby - nice little strip, great bacon sarnies and no fee if you uplift fuel. But cheap without fuel, so go anyway! (Watch out for the low cloud and high ground though - nearly got caught out in it last time I was headed there:eek: )

If you read Flyer or Pilot you'll get up to 10 free landing fees each month. Good value just for the freebies:)

Try Hucknall, it's free if your home airfield doesn't charge a landing fee and only 3 quid (yes, £3) if they do.
And the last time I landed there, me and my two passengers got a free cuppa!
The grass runways are well kept and are nice and long (700+ metres).

No I don't fly from there, but it less than 2 miles from home.

try lashenden (headcorn) in kent, free landing fee when a certain amount of fuel is taken up.

A nice private grass strip with "the tiger club" operating from there, so some nice tiger moths to stare at.

Cheers, Oli;)

Well Mr Boater, You started it - why not make a list and post it somewhere?

Gerry
I am compiling a list for my own use and I will post it later.

Whilst I am doing it, does any one know of places I should avoid that have a huge landing fee even when buying fuel?
