My personal experience (albeit not recently) is that Cleveland is by far the worst airport during snowfall. Beware of obsolete braking action reports and runway condition readings. While it is known that the far end of any runway typically has worse braking action than the primary landing area, CLE appears to barely even pay that part of the runway any attention. An additional problem presents itself in that the prevailing winds during the lake effect snow squalls are out of the Northwest. This typically means a 15-25 knot direct crosswind, and likely a visit to that second half of the runway due to poor braking action and careful (limited) use of reverse.

Having not heard anything from CLE for quite a few years, I had assumed they finally got their act together. I certainly hope this is an isolated event.
