hours ATPL/insurance

Is there anybody who know's if FEO (flight engineer) hours count for ATPL?
If a company says that you need e.g. 1500 hrs because of their insurance.... does FEO experience hrs count?

Half of your FE hours or 250 hrs maximum, can be included in the 1500 hrs needed for the ATPL.
