Have just had my first lesson and am well and truly hooked. Was wondering if there were any useful internet sites that could help with the theory side.
Also could somebody tell me if there are any good sites for the purchase of pilots gear in the UK.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Pilot supplies, try transair.co.uk or harrymendelssohn.com
There will be stacks of books and videos on offer in the catalogs.

Websites for learning, probably met is the most useful when you have some basics try phd.nl/aviation/wx .

One tiny tip. If you go to Transair. Don't buy the PPL kits. You will probably end up replacing half the stuff again with more usable items when you actually get the point of using it. Buy the best stuff on an as needed basis. I wish I did :(

For books, i use Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk) .You can usually save yourself a bob or two! When i purchased my training manuals (Jeremy Pratt) i saved about £50..........

There's often useful stuff for auction/sale on eBay (http://listings.ebay.co.uk/pool2/plistings/list/all/category2982/index.html?from=R4). Worth a look I'd say, you might pick up a bargain.

Do have a look at some of the sites listed in the sticky thread at the top of tech log .....

If you find any others which you consider to be good, then do tell me and I shall include them in the sticky for the benefit of all ...

Best luck with your studies and aviation endeavours in general ...
