The media is saying they were Heat Seeker missiles.
How would 2 -heat- seeking missiles miss a 757 anyone know?
Not like the 757 was firing off chaffs or anything!!
But, thankfully they didn't hit...

I hear that CNN did the "public interest" thing by explaining how to succeed next time... :eek: Really hope they didn't, but everyone I've spoken to about it says they did! :mad:
The BAe 146 used for the Queens flight has a pod on the back containing anti-missile measures, although I don't know how much it weighs or the aerodynamic effect of it's presence.
In light of the recent spate of terrorist attacks, might it be a good idea if some major carriers/manufacturers looked into purchasing such pods for their own a/c?
