Conversation In The Cockpit

Just out of interest, is there a rule that the airlines undertake about having normal conversation's in the cockpit.
I dont think the airline would be too happy if a general 'chit chat' was going on while flying the approach!!!!

at our company: No private conversation from startup to FL100 and from top of descent to shutdown.

Most airlines have the same policy, that conversation on the flightdeck will be "restricted to operational matters" below FL100 / 10,000ft both in the climb and descent.
