Incorrect bonding of the aircraft structure would cause?

a) Corrosion at skin joints
b) CB trip
c) Static on the radio
d) VOR interfernce


On my feedback notes, this question comes twice with different answers. a & c.

if you know please let me know too.:confused:

I don't know about B unless it is circuit sensitive. However A,C & D seem correct.

VOR Interference? It has its own antenna! Wouldn't have thought so.

Incorrect electrical bonding or the lack of bonding can cause spark discharge, which can effect electronic equipment. On the bell 214 there was a total lack of bonding of the rotor system to the airframe and static electricity would build up on the rotor system as to make the VOR totally ineffective. Bell indicated that it was rotor flicker that caused a break up of the signal reception and suggested that if the pilots wanted to use the VOR they should reduce rotor RPM to the point that the helicopter would lose altitude.

As far as conforming to design requirements the A-310 secondary control system is not bonded to the airframe and is totally out of compliance.
