I need a DC 8 command Rating added to my JAR-ATPL.
The only TRTO´s I can think of are in the USA, but I need it endorsed in my JAR License.
Any ideas are highly welcome!

Can't think of many DC8 operators in the JAA region. I would have thought your best bet was to speak to the operator who has the DC8s you are planning to work for. JAA DC8 TRE's are going to be very rare people.

I can only think of Cargo Lion based in Luxembourg www.cargolion.com they operate 3 DC8s

Check with Omega Air in Shannon. If they cannot arrange it themselves one of the Mc Avady brothers will definitively know where to go.

You should be able to get a rating thru SAS flight academy.

MK Airlines might be able to point you in the right direction. MK are based in the UK in Manston and operate DC-8s. However they themselves operate under a Ghana AOC, but they might know where you could go that caters for JAA licences.

Look at www.mkairlines.com

I also just remembered Cygnus Air in Spain. They operate two 'eights' and they might be your best source for info since they will be running to the JAA scheme of things.

Their parent company site is www.gestair.es

Hope this might be of some use.

Dont forget Aer Turas in Dublin whos looking for crews for the adhoc market. Work gets quiet Jan/Feb though....

They have 1xDC8-63F

FYI
CARGOLION finished a long time ago and operation closed down
