It's already more than a week ago, still interesting to know, landing in fog w/o ILS seems like a lotterie to me....

Bangkok Post Oct.31st

Wing hits runway as plane lands in mist

ILS not operative; no passengers hurt

A Thai Airways International plane damaged a wing during a hard landing at Trang airport yesterday morning.

Trang airport chief Paisarn Jinacharn said the pilot should not have landed in the thick mist as the airport's Instrument Landing System had not been fully installed and was not functioning.

No-one was injured but the airport was temporarily closed pending an inquiry.

Flight TG251, a Boeing 737-400 from Bangkok to Trang carrying 66 passengers and a crew of seven, approached the southern airport about 8.20am.

Because of the thick mist the first landing approach was aborted.

The pilot, who has not been named, went around and made a second approach. As the aircraft landed the right wing dipped and hit the runway.

The pilot briefly lost control, but still managed to bring the aircraft to a safe stop. No passengers were injured, but most emerged in a state of shock.

The plane's right wing was structurally damaged and it drooped slightly, and a landing light was broken.

The airport authority grounded the plane and closed the airport for the investigation.

About 100 passengers waiting for the return flight, TG 252 to Bangkok, were taken by bus to the Hat Yai airport to board another flight at 3pm.

Two planes, also Boeing 737s, skidded off the Trang runway in heavy rain in August and September. No-one was injured.

Follow up
Bangkokpost Nov.8th:

Runway was not to blame
The runway and the landing equipment at Trang airport, where an accident occurred late last month, are in perfect condition, said airport chief Paisarn Jinacharn.

He was speaking after an inspection of the airport by a Senate sub-committee on transport and Air Transport Department deputy Wichai Pratheeppreecha.

The committee was looking into an accident in which a Thai Airways International plane damaged a wing during a landing on Oct 30. No one was injured.

Flight TG251, a Boeing 737-400 from Bangkok to Trang, was carrying 66 passengers and a crew of seven.

Mr Paisarn said the runway, the aircraft's landing equipment and navigation aids were in proper shape. THAI is conducting a separate inquiry on the matter. Concern about flight safety was growing at Trang airport because two other Boeing 737s had skidded off the runway in heavy rain in August and September.

Been wondering if anyone was ever going to pick this one up. Was thinking if its not on CNN or Sky it wont make Pprune unless its Korean.
Be carefull of the word mist, low cloud base could end up as mist through translation.
