Can anyone enlighten me as to the benefits of the Honeywell 'Pegasus' FMC?

Other than an increased memory capacity for nav' data, I cannot find any other information on what is significantly different to the existing Honeywell FMC.

Off the top of my head, it does 'abeam points' on a direct to, allows an offpath descent and graphical representation, and has a pred alt / eta on the fix page.

Am sure there are loads of other little things.

When you enter a route you only need to enter the airway. The Pegasus FMC will work out where you exit when you put in the next airway.

Datalink

AA is doing it in some sectors with ATC rather than voice.
