As far as I know, typical conditions for Frankfurt are:
westerly winds, arrivals 25L and 25R, departures 18.
These three streams of traffic can be nicely handled (sort of independently).
However, I've learned that if the tailwind component on rwy 18 exceeds 5 knots, the runway is closed so we sort of lose one runway.
Question:
Doesn't it impede on the planned capacity of the airport?
How do ATC cope with it?
Thanks for any inputs.
