Spinning s/e North East today

Just heard from a friend of mine living in the North East, that a light areoplane was seen on local T V getting into a spin in the high winds, by all accounts he survived to tell the tale, any further info on this?

I just caught the end of a news item (Midlands) which was showing a light aircraft flipped over by the wind - I think that it was parked / unoccupied at the time, but not definite on this as only caught the very end.
