Where can I download free approach plates.

Q from me on the same subject....Why are they called plates? Funny name for a printed bit of paper...

These folks provide nearly everything a pilot could desire in the way of helpful information.

I guess that the use of the name "plate" comes from printing parlance ie
Plate -
A sheet of metal, plastic, rubber, paperboard, or other material prepared for use as a printing surface, such as an electrotype or a stereotype.
A print of a woodcut, lithograph, or other engraved material, especially when reproduced in a book.
A full-page book illustration, often in color and printed on paper different from that used on the text pages.
In older books, illustrations were often numbered and referred to as "Plate 1, Plate 2" etc

Does anyone know of anything similar for UK plates ? I only need a couple for planning a lesson for an imc student and don't have any here. anyone help ??

if you scroll down the page of Check 6's link you'll see, that it covers terminal procedures worldwide, so you'll occasionally find some UK charts as well.
