As a Humble PPLer, avid spotter, and occasional PAX, I have a question.

Is it my imagination or do the A330s have a particularity long flare/float on landing?

Specifically it seems that the trailing wheels on the main gear bogies skim the ground for quite a while before a complete touchdown. Could just be I'm nuts.

I've flown 4 sectors with bmi on the A330 and we've smoothly hit the exact touchdown spot on all four occasions I have to say!

This is exspecially important when you are landing on 22R at Chicago O'Hare!

Four forces,

Lift = weight,

When back set of wheels on main landing gear touches, the is
a decrease in weight so the constant lift by the wing reduces
decent and causes what looks like a greaser, I think?.

But who am I to answer.
