Does anyone know of any test question (examples) for the (Written) Communication Exams as this is not in the PPL Confuser.

swood,

Ask around your club/school, and see if you can find anyone who did the old CAA PPL. The old version of the Confuser did have sample R/T questions, so if you can find anyone who's still got one of the old versions lying around you may be able to borrow it. No idea why they took these questions out for the JAR edition, but there you go.

I wonder how hard you could have tried, since it took you a whole 30 minutes to reply that "nobody" has a copy of the old Confuser? Were none of the instructors at your club flying in those 30 minutes? Was every single student in the club-house just waiting for you to come and talk to them?

When I was in the same situation, I asked my instructor. He recommended an ex-student of his who still flew from the club regularly. It was a couple more weeks until I was around at the same time as the ex-student. And then I found that she was flying, and wait to wait an hour or so until she came back. Of course she didn't have the book with her, and I had to wait another week until she could get it to me.

So forgive me for thinking you're not really putting much effort into it if it's only taken you 30 minutes to give up.

Read the Thom or Pratt book (or both)and do the questions in them. Read CAP413 too and you should be okay. I just got 28/30 by doing this.

Unless you're planning on spending your time doing circuits around a farm strip it's something you should really know, you're going to use this stuff in anger.

Someone else asked the same question a month or so back. I replied that I still had my 'old' Confuser & suggested he/she e-mail me.

I was going to offer to post a copy of the relevant pages to them. Did I get an e-mail? Do pigs fly?

FlyingForFun,

Thanks for you help, I had already spoken to other student pilots before I posted this request.

But unfortunately, they had no copies and suggested I use this site for futher assistance.

Don D Cake,

Thanks,

Congratulations on your high score :)

I am reading the Jeremy Pratt books and answering the Questions within the books.

I'm going to give it ago without the PPL Confuser, however if I have problems I'll get in touch.

Thanks once again.

Swood, in that case, sorry - I was a little harsh in my previous post. Good luck with the exam - it's not difficult, and I'm sure you'll do fine.

A few days before my R/T exam, I sat down with me pen, paper and copy of the Confuser to give myself a mock test. Arrgghh, no R/T questions! Panic, what am I going to do? I suspect you recently experienced the same. Make sure you get 100% of the Pratt qustions right and you'll be okay. Good luck....
